A NASDAQ-listed cloud-based business that is reinventing modern-day communication, is looking to hire a Database Engineer. The selected candidate would provide technical support and oversight to company databases and collaborate with various engineering teams. The company is helping enterprises across the globe, stay ahead of the curve by making professional making communication more intelligent, personal, and flexible. As of now, the company has managed to raise over $596mn in funding and is on a mission to make professional communication more flexible, personal, and intelligent. The selected candidate will provide 7-8+ hours of overlap with teams in Israel and Poland.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and manage performance, integrity, and security of the company database
- Brainstorm, plan, and develop databases after considering back-end organization and front-end accessibility
- Analyze frequent user complaints pertaining to technical issues and provide fast responses to front-end users
- Ensure that data remains consistent and clearly defined across the platform
- Provide provisions for data security and recovery control, ensure data recovery is possible in emergencies
- Take ownership of installing and testing new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
Job Requirements: - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Database (DBA) Engineer
- Expert skills in Postgres, Python, and AWS
- Experience with Postgres production, installation, upgrades, tuning, and replication
- Thorough understanding of NoSQL, Redis, AWS RDS Aurora, ELK Stack, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Snowflake, or similar stacks would be an advantage
- Nice to possess skills with Data ETL, data warehousing, performance profiling, and analysis
- Great to hold experience with database operations such as monitoring, data migrations, backup, and recovery
- Excellent English communication skills, both conversational and written
